Anyone for Tennis? Wimbledon Inspired Fashion

With Wimbledon in full swing, I thought I would give you my own take on Wimbledon inspired fashion...
You don't have to be a tennis player yourself to take some inspiration this summer from centre court. A fresh sporty look is great for summer, and this season's love affair with brights mixes so well with tennis whites. Just remember that you aren't actually dressing to play tennis, the trick is to take little bits of inspiration...

Maggie Angus Jewellery AW Preview

Whilst Summer is well and truly in full swing *ahem* I can't help but start to have an excited look at what is around the fashion corner. I know Autumn probably seems a long way off but last week I had something drop into my inbox that got me all excited for the coming season: a preview of the fabulous Maggie Angus AW collection!

For Autumn Winter this year, Maggie Angus Jewellery is set to take us on a magical trip into the world of nocturnal creatures in the 'Night Life' collection. This gorgeous collection takes nocturnal animals and mixes them with a bit of night time glamour, with glittery black perspex and shiny mirrored pieces.

In true Maggie Angus fashion, inspiration from real life has been given a quirky and fun twist resulting in amazing statement jewellery!

Nicola Roberts Style Story

Nicola Roberts was only 16 years old when she first appeared on 'Popstars: The Rivals' and became part of Girls Allowed back in 2002. She has spent her formative fashion years in the limelight and has blossomed into a gorgeous fashion icon. Nicola took a while to find her true fashion self, and was always the quieter on in the group. She spent years battling against her naturally pale skin and red hair but in the last few years she has embraced her natural looks.

She has publically spoken about her insecurities about her looks when she was younger and has spoken out against young girls' over use of sun beds. She also released her own make up range 'Dainty Doll' for pale skin. Her message now is clearly one of embracing what you have and working with it. In my opinion, she definitely works what she has got!

I know that some areas of the press don't approve of her fashion choices but I love her. She takes risks with her choices, she is never boring and she always looks amazing! I thought I would take a little look her fashion journey...

Back in 2002, with the final line up for Girls Allowed

An early red carpet experience in 2003 with Sarah and Kimberly

On stage in 2005, great body but still a fan of the fake bake. Not sure about the outfit!

With Cheryl in 2007, Nicola went for a darker hair colour than her natural red hair. She looks great in the dress but the makeup and tan is a bit much.

What a difference a year makes! Nicola looked amazing at the V festival 2008! with a stylish bob, her natural skin tone and chic festival outfit.

By 2009, Nicola had ditched the tan and the dye and looked stunning at the Brit Awards!

2010 was definitely Nicola's year style wise. She tried new things and experimented with THE trends. She also became a firm fashion week fave and was seen at all the best shows.

2011, with her solo career launched Nicola is still flying the style flag. Seen here wearing a fabulous piece from 'one to watch' label Joanne Hynes-Helen Steele.

Dianna Argon's 'Likes Girls' statement Tshirt

Diana Argon caused a bit of an internet buzz after sporting a Tshirt that said 'Likes Girls' at a live Glee concert in Toronto this week!

She wore the Tshirt as part of the cast's performance of Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way'. Whilst the internet was all a flurry of rumours that this was Argon coming out, she has advised that her choice of Tshirt was just her way of showing support for the LGBT community.

I love the whole Katherine Hamnett vibe of the Tshirts worn by the Glee cast both on stage and in the original episode that they featured in, and I was inspired to find some great slogan Tshirts that have plenty to say...

Wishful Thinking...

As I am back to blogging, I thought I would get back into the regular features. I always hope that people enjoy them!

Today I wanted to share with you the items that I would buy if I had money to spare with the return of Wishful Thinking...

Lucy In Disguise at Harvey Nicks

Unless you live under some kind of fashion rock, you will be in some way aware of Lucy In Disguise, the vintage clothing business started up by Lily Allen and her sister Sarah Owen last year. After the initial success of their London based store, the sisters announced that they would be launching a ready to wear line inspired by their favourite pieces.

As the official blogger for Mix-d:Face I was lucky enough to get a ticket to the launch of the new  Lucy In Disguise range at Harvey Nichols Manchester.

So on Tuesday, ticket in hand (and feeling pretty nervous tbh) I ventured to the first blogger related event I have gone to completely alone! I am pleased to say though that once I was there, the HN staff were lovely and welcoming and the intimate setting of the launch was comfortable and relaxing. In keeping with the vintage theme, there was music from Vintage 78 Gramophone DJs.There were also fabulous looking Lollicakes and waiters serving drinks.

Lottie's Finishing School K is For....

Well guys, I have missed being away for so long and am so happy to be getting back into the swing of things! One great part of my blogging experience so far is being part of Lottie's Finishing School. Doing these posts has been great inspiration for me and has also been great to remind myself to make sure I have a little bit of glamour in my life. One of the things I admire most about Lottie herself is the fact that she always makes an effort, and makes that effort for herself. She knows that making herself feel good on the outside can help her feel good on the inside. She has a love for life that it catching...

I know it has been a while since the last finishing school post, J is for Juggling - so let's get cracking with K...'Kit'

If you read this blog regularly, you will know that I recently moved house. Due to a pretty rubbish chain of events me and my OH had to move into my mum's for a year so our circumstances were pretty cramped. Don't get me wrong, we were really lucky to have a) somewhere to live and b) we had 2 rooms of the house that were ours, a living room and a bedroom. But you can imagine, it wasn't the most ideal of situations.
