Loving this week....

Wonder Woman & Mac Collaboration

Ladies, MAC has done it again! They brought us the Hello Kitty collaboration, they brought us the Disney Venomous Villains collaboration and now the Wonder Woman Collection!

And like the Venomous Villains collection, the collection is inspired by the character and costume. The packaging looks amazing, and I have to admit is a step up from the Venomous Villains.

Set for release in the US 10th February, and due for international release in March, the collection includes; lip gloss, eyeshadow, mascara, blush, eyeliner, and even a make up bag.

Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland

I am a big Tim Burton fan (some people may say that I am a Tim Burton geek). However, I am ashamed to admit that I did not get the chance to see Alice in Wonderland at the cinema (I didn't have two pennies to rub together at the time). But having acquired it on Blu Ray over the festive/birthday period (my birthday is five days after Christmas) I finally got round to watching it last night. Now I know that people generally seemed to think it was a bit 'meh' but I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it for all the reasons I love Burton, the visuals and art direction were stunning. I have a feeling that maybe the 3D thing took a bit away from it, as I have not seen it in that format yet. Also, I know that some fans of the book were a bit disgruntled.
Blow by Blow: the story of Isabella Blow by Detmar Blow & Tom Sykes
I started reading this book on the way to London last week (again it was acquired over the festive season). I had been eager to read it since I started reading reviews of the book, as I am a fan of Isabella Blow and wanted to know more about her. As the book is co-written by her husband, Detmar, I expected this to be a true portrayal of the real Isabella.

The books is a poignant and honest telling of Isabella's life, a life that was amazing but at times terribly tragic. To me, as to many people who are interested in fashion, Isabella Blow was a one off, and a genius in her own right. I think that this book does her justice, whilst not being afraid to show her flaws as well as her genius.

Tali Lennox
I imagine that being the daughter of music Icon Annie Lennox, would be both a blessing and a curse. It would take a certain kind of someone to step out of that shadow and make a name for yourself in your right. That someone is Tali Lennox, the 17 year old daughter of Annie, and record producer Uri Fruchtman. Signed to Next Models, and the face of ACNE's SS camping Tali is the hot ticket in fashion at the moment.

Joana Faria

Whilst at the ACOFI launch, I had the pleasure of meeting illustrator Joana Faria. She drew the illustration of me that I have now incorporated into the design of the blog. I am really hoping to do some work with Joana in the future, so keep your eyes peeled for her amazing work.
