Wishful Thinking - Vivienne Westwood

This is a new item that I have decided to do for the blog. It is basically the 'If money was limitless' buys! The designer items that I dream of owning (but cannot afford!)

First up one of my all time favourite designers - Vivienne Westwood...
This Dress from Liberty is beautiful - if I could afford it, I would buy it in every pattern & colour!

The bio on the site describing the dress makes me want it even more!:

This fifties style dress nips in to enhance the waist, with a full skirt perfect for twirling around a dance floor.

Style Steal SATC2 special - Carrie

Yes ladies, it is time for the fourth & final installment of my SATC2 style steals. Last and most certainly not least, Miss Carrie Bradshaw.

Carrie has the most envied and most outlandish wardrobe of all four of the girls. She also has the most envied walk in wardrobe ever after the first movie!

I hope you have enjoyed my SATC style steals (any feedback would be greatly appreciated!)

Tesco Price Blitz

Clothing at Tesco currently have a 'Price Blitz' sale on! And I decided that as my Tesco Purchases the other day were a prize-win, it doesn't count so I was allowed to get one or two things in the sale!

You may recognise the vest from my Tesco Looks for £30 post, and the skirt from my Alexa Chung Style Steal (my very 1st post!)

There are plenty of other bargains to be had - get them before they go!

Here are some of my picks:

Style Steal SATC2 special - Samantha

Samantha tends to dress the most 'sexy' out of the four girls and can sometimes be a bit risque, but you can do Samantha's look a little more toned down. You can take certain elements of her look and make it more suited to your style, or if you want you can do head to toe Samantha - have fun!

SATC2 premiere, the red carpet looks

In my new organised scheme for the blog, I will be posting red carpet picks each Wednesday.  (I am trying to rotate my regular features, still trying to suss this blog business out so feedback would be appreciated!)

I know I'm probably doing Sex and the City overkill at the moment, but even if you don't like SATC you have to accept the impact that it has had on fashion. And if you still aren't convinced, don't worry I will be done with the SATC2 stuff soon!

So, now I have got my blabbing out of the way, here are my picks from the Sex and the City 2 premiere

    Gok-A-Licious

    Auntie Gok is back ladies!

A new series of Gok's Fashion Fix started last night on Channel 4 (If you missed it you can catch up on 4OD)

Whilst I loved How to look good naked, Fashion Fix is my favourite Gok show. It has a bit of everything; trends, a makeover, product testing and the designer vs high street face-off. What more could a girl want on a Tuesday night?!

I love that whilst Gok does love labels,  he is also championing the high street.
I'm a firm believer in looking good within your means and I think that it should be all about your personal style.
I'm also love that he is showing people to make an outfit their own, and to not be afraid of a little customising.

And his attitude to women's hatred of their bodies is hopefully having a positive impact. He's been teaching women all over the country that it isn't about surgery, it's about embracing who you are and maximising your good bits.

I can't wait for the rest of the series!

Gok's Fashion Fix is on Channel 4, Tuedays, 8pm (you can also watch on 4OD)

Style Steal SATC2 special - Miranda

This is the part two of my sex & the city 2 style steal.

Next up Miranda - whilst initially Miranda was not the most stylish of the girls, as the seasons progressed they developed a signature look for her. In the movies she is less corporate, and in this one especially she is sporting some gorgeous patterned maxi dresses.
She has great skin and for those with similar fair skin will find this colour pallet flattering.

Style Steal SATC2 special - Charlotte

Unless you live under a rock, you will be well aware that SATC2 comes out this week. To honour my love for the fashion I have decided to do four special Style steals based on the girls' looks in the new film!

      Starting off with Charlotte -
Charlotte's style in SATC has always been ladylike and quite prim and proper, as her character has developed her wardrobe has too. Some of the looks from the movie are quite 'matchy' and if that is a little too much, try matching the dresses with nude heels to tone it down.

      Good News!

Totally forgot to share my good news! On Friday, Natasha Bailie (Seller of amazing vintage dresses and blogger) announced that I won the Tesco competition! Did not think I would win at all, entered in hope that it would promote my blog a bit and also just thought it was a good idea for a blog!

      I was soooo chuffed :)

Hopefully it's a good sign for my and my little blog xx

      Pretty Pastels

Apologies for the wait for this post, I have been doing techical things to my blog!

Think candy floss, bon bons and sherbet shades...
      • If you don't want to do head to toe pastels, try mixing with black accessories (as in the Luella SS10 collection
      • Those with pale skin should opt for greens and blues as the other colours may wash you out
      • darker hair & darker complexions are better complimented with warmer hues such as corals
      • Try mixing the look by colour blocking various hues - two trends in one!
      • If pastels aren't really your style but you want a little piece of this trend their are some gorgeous accessories out there in pastel shades. Try just adding a pastel clutch, shoes or jewellery for a hint at the trend.

      Seeing Spots

One of the biggest trends for S/S10 is pattern, in all its forms.
One pattern trend that seems to everywhere at the moment is polka dots, so if floral is too girly for you, or just not your thing, go dotty!

The great thing about this seasons polka dots is that you can mix them with other pattern trends. Yes, clashing is allowed!
If a full on polka dot outfit is a bit much for you, there are plenty of dotty accessories out there to perk up a plain outfit. (Just avoid head to toe dots with dotty accesories, there are limits!)

Personally I love them (I think I have serious mini mouse issues from my childhood!) But I'm not the only one...
