This is the second installment in my featured blogger posts. (The first one can be found here) This time round I chose Sarah of Sarah's Scribbles.
I met Sarah through twitter and the general blogging community. I really like her blog, she puts a great deal of effort into keeping it going and fresh, and she has a great eye for designers and trends. Not only that, but as I have got to know her, I have found she is a genuinely lovely person. She has been really supportive and helpful whilst I have been developing my own blog.
Last month, Sarah won British Style Bloggers Blogger of the Month title (well deserved in my opinion!) Proving that substance rather than longevity can get you noticed in the world of blogging.
I asked Sarah to answer a few questions about her blogging:
How Long have you been blogging?

I asked Sarah to answer a few questions about her blogging:
How Long have you been blogging?
I've been blogging now for about three months, so I'm quite a newbie to the scene. Even though the fashion thoughts started looooong ago! The blog is just like an extension to my very random thoughts, which revolve mainly around fashion and my pure obsession for shoes. I hope my random musings, not only on fashion, but style, design, people and their personalities, will entertain and perhaps maybe inspire other people to share their views and opinions. Also, I love hearing from new people and love hearing from new people and love hearing different opinions even more.
What made you start blogging?
I started blogging after being inspired by some of the other blogs I read on a regular basis. I've always been stupidly interested in fashion and trends, and started people watching (in a non-stalkerish way!) since I was really young and I really enjoy picking up on other people's way of dressing, the way each and every person dresses just a little bit different and the little quirky uniqueness we all have. I decided to start putting things down onto paper, so to speak, as a kind of therapy for me, and to encourage a creative side I've always thought I had, but always been a little embarrassed about. From the age of 14, I suffered crippling self-confidence issues and didn't really like myself. It took me a while to get comfortable and happy and embrace me - this blog is just a little bit of me.
Who in the fashion world inspires you?
Another difficult one! One designer that has rocked my world lately is an up and coming designer Lira Leirner - who has the most inventive, creative and beautiful creations I have seen in a long time. I'm a huge fan of a lot of designers, Erdem for the prints and colours, Eli Saab for gorgeous dresses, Jil Sander for structure, Mark Fast for full-on sex appeal; Preen for quirkiness and Twenty8Twelve for relaxed chic and easy to wear!
What do you think are the positives you have got from blogging?
Probably the people I've had the chance of either meeting or interacting with. It's actually somewhat rewarding to realise that maybe I'm not the only one interested in these things and share the same vies as most of the others. It's also really nice to share opinions and get support from other very talented bloggers who I really aspire to, like you! [edit from Nikki - blushing as I read that!] I really enjoy everything about blogging and get super excited at the mere thought of writing a blog piece!
Where are your favourite places to shop?
Er, there are literally too many places to mention! Ha! Fort High Street trend looks, my faves are Topshop: with lots of accessible sometimes hard to find trends, you can guarantee you will find something in there you want. Good range of clothes also. Zara: for a slightly exotic take on trends and quite often some rather expensive looking items for a bargainous pieces. Dahlia: for gorgeous, feminine dresses/playsuits. For online buys, it has to be ASOS, they are purely fabulouso for everything - beauty, accessories, fashion and shoes - you name it, they have it! Plus the nicest people work there! I also love a good rummage in the charity shops, there are lots of gems to be had in both charity shops and at car boot sales! For vintage finds: Love Miss Daisy and Natasha Bailie Vintage Clothing, and for vintage inspired jewellery, it has to be Frankie at Swell Vintage!
What advice would you give someone stuck in a style rut?
Always push the boundaries and step outside of the comfort zone! It's oh so easy to stick with what you know, but the only way to broaden your horizons and find a new style and look is by experimenting. Not every new trend/style will suit every body shape but it is most defiantly worth trying these things out, and interpreting them in your own way. The best outfits are the ones you come up with in your head on spur of the moment.
What is the one piece every girl should have in her wardrobe right now?
I love a good jumpsuit! So very versatile - dressing it up or down, in a multitude of different fabrics, colours and prints, please wear with statement chunky jewellery and oodles of attitude! I literally get excited at the mere sight of them! There are too many faves to mention, but whatever you have in your wardrobe, make it work for you personally and make it individual.
How did it feel to win British Style Bloggers - Blogger of the months title? (Sarah won the title last month after a public vote)
One word: AMAZING! Ha! After only three months of blogging it feels so amazing to be thought of and possibly well received, even if people I know voted for me more than once! It's just nice to feel accepted, and hopefully maybe this will lead onto bigger and better things. It was just lovely to be considered, considering I'm such a newbie.
Where do you get your inspiration for your blog posts from?
Everything and everywhere - quite often it's brain waves, but mostly from people around me!
What item are you lusting after at the moment?
oooo! It just has to be a necklace from the super fun Tatty Devine!!!!
